Alice because a child of God through Holy Baptism on September 6, 1908, at St ohn's Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. She later renewed her baptismal convenant through confirmation on March 25, 1923, also at St ohn's. She was united in marriage to ohn Hartwig on June 30, 1937, at Wood Lake. They lived on a farm near Wood Lake until John's death in 1977. Alice then resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Grand Island. Alice was a member of St John's Lutheran Church of Wood Lake and was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Grand Island.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Larry (Donna) Reed of Grand Island, Nebraska; and one sister, Mrs. Howard (Erna) Reiten of Granit Falls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; one brother; and her parents. Blessed be her memory.

     She was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Emington, the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Arnolts Hogan. She married John Neitz in August 1945. He died in September 1982. She later married Raymond Schmidt on Nov 29, 1985. He survives.
     Survivors include one son, Joe (Kathy) Neitz, Bloomington; three daughters, Carol (Jim) Miller, Pontiac; Sandy (Rich) Harlan, Flanagan; and Kay Morgan, Pontiac; one step-daughter, Janice (Jim) Shane, Las Vegas, Nev; and one step-son, Dale (Pam) Schmidt, Streator.
     Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Lori Miller, Bloomington; Rob (Stephanie) Miller, Pontiac; Amy (Matt) Baker, Flanagan; Joe (Audrey) Harlan, El Paso; Carissa (Jason) Webster, Kempton; Sarah Neitz, Bloomington; and John Neitz, Bloomington; six great-grandchildren, Clayton Miller; Ryan and Emma Baker; Samantha Harlan, and Madisyn and Samuel Webster, and four step-grandchildren, Emily Schmidt, Streator; Jennifer (Scott) Waggoner of Washington state; Dqwn Shane, Las Vegas, Nev; and JD (Kelly) Shane, Boulder, Colo.

Chris sold the farm in the fall of 1892 and stayed with Ben Goes til spring of 1893. Jackrabbits were so thick Chris shot them from the kitchen door. The Jacks ate the corn from the corn piles.
NoteHilka Carl (Ellen) Hogelucht and Christian (Chris) Hartwig moved in the spring of 1893 via train to south of Wymore, NE, where their address was Barneston, Gage Co, NE. The Ehner children came along also.
Note*Hilka Carl (Ellen) Hogelucht loved to grow flowers. She was stout in stature and around 5 feet 8 and a half inches tall with red hair and blue eyes.

Born May 9, 1918, in Peoria to Gustave and Katherine Wierschem Honold, he married Mildred M. Closen on Oct. 8, 1938, in Peoria. She
survives.
Also surviving are one son, Stephen M. of West Peoria; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Rose Radley of Chillicothe and Martha
Weber and Mary Snider, both of Peoria. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was a wire drawer at Keystone Steel & Wire Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1975.
He was a member of the Keystone Retirees Club and the American Association of Retired Persons. He was a member of the National Fresh
Water Fishing Hall of Fame in Hayward, Wis.
He was a lifetime member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, which is now St. Ann Catholic Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at his church, where visitation will be 30 minutes before services. The Rev. Richard Horvath will
officiate. Visitation also will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Endsley & Son Funeral Home in Bartonville, with recitation of the rosary at
7:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in West Peoria.
Memorials may be made to his church or the Methodist Medical Center Hospice Program.
