PAXTON - Funeral services for Floyd N. "Cy" Shreves, 74, of Paxton will be at 2 pm Friday at Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, the Rev Harold Bodeen officiating.
Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm today at the funeral home.
Mr. Shreves died at 9:50 pm Tuesday (June 2, 1987) at the Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City.
He was born Jan. 11, 1913, at Flora, a son of Homer E and Eva M Treach Shreves. He married Bernice A.M. Brant on June 4, 1939, at Crawfordsville, Ind. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert Shreves of Rantoul, a daughtger, marlene Goben of Gibson City; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; three brothers, Harold Shreves of Paxton, Donald Shreves of Peoria and Everett Shreves of Logansport, Ind; and a sister, Maxine Allen of Urbana.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Mr. Shreves spent his early years at Flora and attended Foosland and Paxton schools. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. In the early 1940s he was employed at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul. He was also employed with the Paxton Street Department. In 1974 he retired from the Northern Illinois Gas Co., Paxton, after working there for 21 years.

Mrs. Mabel Irene Reiken, wife of Henry Reiken of Laketon, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at 9:20 at the Wabash county hospital. She underwent surgery November 18, but seemingly was recovering satisfactorily from the operation. The body was takien to the Wire-Nicely Funeral Home in Wabash and the funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at the Ijamsville Methodist Church. The Rev. Fred R Conkling will conduct the service and burial will be in the Laketon Cemetery. Mrs. Reiken was a daughter of Thomas and Anna Long Sickafus and was born at Urbana January 31, 1906. She married Mr. Reiken December 31, 1924. He survives together with severn daughters: Mrs. Carrol Coble, Crane; Mrs. Ray Bell, North Webster; Mrs. Charles Sharpe, Laketon; Mrs James Kirby, Phoenix, AZ; Mrs Ronald Meredith, Germany; and Susie and Kay at home; two sons, John, Bangor, ME; and Jim at home. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. George Thomas, Ijamsville; Mrs Arthur Shumer, Gary; Mrs. Herb Linn, Warsaw; and four brothers, Vernon and Jesse, Ijamsville; Ralph, Laketon; and Lloyd, New Orleans, LA. Two children and a sister preceded her in death.

Bernard "Bernie" Frank Simburger, 74, of Tempe, Arizona, entered eternal rest Friday, March 5, 2004. Bernie was born May 15, 1929 in Mt. Olive, Illinois to Lawrence and Anna (Helmbold) Simburger. He attended local schools, graduating from Mt. Olive High School in 1947, moving to Tempe in 1960. Bernie attended Arizona State University, was a member of the ASU Alumni Club and an A#1 ASU fan, attending all ASU sporting activities. He was also an avid motorcycle rider. Bernie was a National Asbestos Worker for 55 years, and was a member of the Local Lodge #73, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Phoenix Police Reserves from 1963-1968 and was a member of the Scottsdale Quarterback Club. Bernie was a faithful member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, and was a 55 year member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 55 years, Roxie Lee (Towner) Simburger; son. Joseph (Cheryl Ann) Simburger; daughters, Carolyn Whatley & Linda Simburger; brother, Lawrence Simburger and 4 grandchildren, Bryan & Katherine Simburger and Laura & Amy Whatley. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, with a recitation of the rosary and eulogy service at 6:30 pm at Tempe Mortuary, 405 E. Southern Ave., Tempe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 2121 S. Rural Rd., Tempe. Entombment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, 5005 E. Oak St., Phoenix. Winona M. “Winnie” Lottman, 88, of Beatrice, died Monday afternoon, Oct. 11, 2010 at the Wymore Good Samaritan Center.
She was born April 29, 1922, at rural Wymore.
She moved with her family to the Wilber area, where she attended grade school and later lived in the Diller area, graduating from Diller High School in 1941.
She was married to Harry Lottman Jan. 24, 1942, at Beatrice and they lived and farmed in the Beatrice area. They retired and moved to Beatrice in 1983. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching sports, especially Nebraska football and volleyball and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Lottman and wife Rachel of Wymore and Kenneth Lottman and wife Martha of Byers, Colo; five grandchildren, Ricky Lottman, Rita Thompson and husband Lee, Tina Andreasen and husband Travis, Stacy Bright and husband Glen and Shawn Lottman and wife Ursula; four great-grandchildren, Haley, Katelyn and Jenna Bright and Collin Thompson; one sister, Delores Fiala and husband John of Beatrice; a sister-in-law, Erna Lottman of Beatrice; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gladys Fletcher Smith; her husband, Harry Lottman, who died March 31, 2002; and one brother, Kenneth Hull.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14, at the Fox Funeral Home, 19th and Garfield, Beatrice, with Father Dennis Hotovy officiating. Private inurnment of the cremains will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice prior to the service.
A memorial has been established to Samaritan Springs. There will be no viewing, but a register book for signatures will be available from 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct 13, until the time of the service on Thursday. A guest book for signatures and messages of condolence is also available online at www.foxfuneralhome.net. Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice is in charge of the arrangements.
