Virginia M. Jennings, 77, of Flora, IL died at 5:30 PM Friday, August 4, 2006 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
She was born May 12, 1929 in Shelby County, IL to Fred Raymond & Ruth Delight (Denier) Gordon. She married Stephen Earl Jennings on February 10, 1946 in Clay County, IL. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2001. She was a former cashier at Alpha Beta Store and a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Flora.
She is survived by 3 sons: Stephen E. (Bonnie) Jennings III of Garden Grove, CA, Douglas A. Jennings of Fairfield, Danny L. (Jane) Jennings of Fairfield; 3 brothers: John Gordon of Cape Coral, FL, Jack Lee Gordon of Decatur, Wayne Gordon of Mahomet; 3 sisters: Doris Green of Decatur, Marilyn Bissey of Clay City, Jennie Gowan of Daytona Beach, FL; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, 1 sister.
As per Virginia's request, cremation rites were accorded and there will be no services. Frank & Bright Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

     Between John Grady of West Dover Hundred Kent County State of Delaware and Bridget, his wife, Michael Grady of the city of Wimington, New Castle County State of Delaware, and Catherine his wife and James Grady (son of Roger Grady) of the city of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania of the one part and Elizabeth Moffett of Kenton Hundred, Kent County State of Delaware of the other part:
     Whereb as Patrick Grady in and by his last will and testament dated October fourth in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety two of record in the office of Register of Wills in and for Kent County State of Delaware at Dover in Will Book X volume one page 452 did devise as follows:

     Being the same lands and premises which were devised in and by the Last Will and Testament of Partick Grady late of Kent County Delaware, deceased, unto his brother John Grady, sister, Elizabeth Moffett, his brother Michael Grady and his nephew James Grady in fee simple, as will more fully appear by reference to the Will of the said Patrick Grady October 4th A.D. 1892 and recorded in the office of the register of wills in and for Kent County in Will book X page 452.
     The undivided interest of the said John Grady, Michael Grady and James Grady having been conveyed to the said Elizabeth Moffett by their deed, dated December 13th A.D. 1893, and recorded at Dover, in and for Kent County in the Office of the Rcorder of Deeds, in Deed Book O. Moffett, his wife, parties to this indenture known to me personally to be such and acknowledged this indenture to be their Deed.
     And the said Margaret J. Moffett, Mary H. Stevens, Ella A. Moffett, and Mary E. Moffett and Catherine Moffett being at the same time privately examined by me, apart from their husbands acknowledged that they executed the said indenture willingly without compulsion for threats or fear of their husbands displeasure, given under my hand and seal of offices the day and year aforesaid.

     Lizzie buys Attix Farm after death of William H. Moffett, her husband.
     No. 247 Chauch Docket August 24 1869.

     This deed made this day of August eighteen hundred eighty seven by John B. Brown of Queen Anne's County in the state of Maryland. First as herein after mentioned witnessth. Where as by a decree of the circut court for Queen Anne's County in equity passed on the 24th day of August 1869 in a cause in said court where in Thomas Attix is complaintant and Susan Anderson and others are defendents being No. 247 of the Chaucery docket of said court. Philemon B. Happer was appointed trustee to sell the land decreed to be sold and sold same to William H. Moffett of the county and state aforesaid at and for the sum of twenty eight hunded and twenty dollars and twenty five cents, which said sale was duly reported to said court in said case and finally ratified and confirmed, by order passed therein; where as the said Phileman B. Happer having departed this life without having completed his trusts, John B. Brown of Queen Anne's County Maryland was by order of said court ______ in said case on the 2nd day of October 1871 appointed trustee instead of said Phileman B. Happer deceased to complete said trust and whereas afterwards to wit; on the 10th day of August 1875 at Shiriff sale there as made and reported in Cudicials No. 5 of the Only term 1875 of the circut court for Queen Anne's County in the case of Thomas J. Keating administrator debonis non of John Elbin as W.H. Moffett asked special return therein made by Thomas Bailey, then Sheriff of Queen Anne's County John B. Brown because the purchaser said real estate at and for the sum of six hundred and fifty dollars and where as afterwards the said John B. Brown made sale thereof to Llizzie Moffett of Queen Anne's County aforesaid and where as the whole purchased price of said real estate has been paid. And where the said circut court for Queen Anne'a County in equity by and order passed in the case aforesaid has authorized and empowered the said John B. Brown as trustee to grant and convey the said real estate to the said Lizzie Moffett. Now therefore in consideration of the promises the said John B. Brown trustee doth grant and convey unto the said Lizzie Moffett her heirs and asigns simple the aforesaid real estate, particularly described as follows. All that parcel of land known as the "Attix Farm" situated in the first election district of said Queen Anne's County on Sewells Branch which is the division between Kent and Queen Anne's Counties and is bounded on the east by the state of Delaware.
