Obituary: Illinois PEKIN -- Henry J. Hartwig, 81, of 444 Parkway Drive, Apt. 704, died at 8:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, at Hallmark House
Nursing Center.
Born March 10, 1915, in Breda, Iowa, to John H. and Ida D. Johnson Hartwig, he married Clara Janszen on Feb. 23, 1946, in Peoria. She died
Dec. 11, 1987, in Mapleton. He also was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Marjorie Hartwig and Marita Hartwig.
Surviving is one son, Steven R. of Chicago.
He was a laborer at WABCO in Peoria for 35 1/2 years, retiring in 1976.
A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 718 in Pekin.
He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville, where memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Kenneth
Tegtmeier will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded and interment of ashes will follow the services at St. John
Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville. Wilton Mortuary in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary: Illinois Henry J. Hartwig, 88, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 1993, at Christian Buehler Home.
Born Feb. 20, 1905, in Bartonville to John H. and Lena Light Hartwig, he married Emma M. Lauterbach on June 20, 1928, in Bartonville. She
died May 2, 1978, in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by one son, Roland, and two sisters.
Surviving are one son, Gerald of Peoria; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles of Peoria.
He was a truck driver for Lauterbach Lumber Co., retiring in 1969.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Steven Tibbetts will officiate. Visitation will
be from 6 to 8 tonight at Davison-Fulton Western Chapel and 30 minutes before services at the church. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery
in Peoria.
