REEDER - Lloyd Shafer, 72, Reeder, died Sept. 18, 2008, at West River Regional Hospital, Hettinger. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday, Sept. 22, at Krebsbach Funeral Home Chapel, Bowman. Burial will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons, Kim, Omaha, Neb., and Joey, Reeder; one sister, Velma Gurwell, Sturgis, S.D; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. |

PAXTON - Funeral services for Floyd N. "Cy" Shreves, 74, of Paxton will be at 2 pm Friday at Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, the Rev Harold Bodeen officiating.
Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm today at the funeral home.
Mr. Shreves died at 9:50 pm Tuesday (June 2, 1987) at the Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City.
He was born Jan. 11, 1913, at Flora, a son of Homer E and Eva M Treach Shreves. He married Bernice A.M. Brant on June 4, 1939, at Crawfordsville, Ind. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert Shreves of Rantoul, a daughtger, marlene Goben of Gibson City; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; three brothers, Harold Shreves of Paxton, Donald Shreves of Peoria and Everett Shreves of Logansport, Ind; and a sister, Maxine Allen of Urbana.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Mr. Shreves spent his early years at Flora and attended Foosland and Paxton schools. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. In the early 1940s he was employed at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul. He was also employed with the Paxton Street Department. In 1974 he retired from the Northern Illinois Gas Co., Paxton, after working there for 21 years.

Mrs. Mabel Irene Reiken, wife of Henry Reiken of Laketon, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at 9:20 at the Wabash county hospital. She underwent surgery November 18, but seemingly was recovering satisfactorily from the operation. The body was takien to the Wire-Nicely Funeral Home in Wabash and the funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at the Ijamsville Methodist Church. The Rev. Fred R Conkling will conduct the service and burial will be in the Laketon Cemetery. Mrs. Reiken was a daughter of Thomas and Anna Long Sickafus and was born at Urbana January 31, 1906. She married Mr. Reiken December 31, 1924. He survives together with severn daughters: Mrs. Carrol Coble, Crane; Mrs. Ray Bell, North Webster; Mrs. Charles Sharpe, Laketon; Mrs James Kirby, Phoenix, AZ; Mrs Ronald Meredith, Germany; and Susie and Kay at home; two sons, John, Bangor, ME; and Jim at home. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. George Thomas, Ijamsville; Mrs Arthur Shumer, Gary; Mrs. Herb Linn, Warsaw; and four brothers, Vernon and Jesse, Ijamsville; Ralph, Laketon; and Lloyd, New Orleans, LA. Two children and a sister preceded her in death. |
