John Misecko Jr.
Funeral services for John Misecko Jr., 87, of Greenville, will be at 7 p.m Thursday, Oct. 29, at Grace Lutheran Church, 1787 Klerner Lane, New Albany, with full military honors. He died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.He was a retired employee of some 44 years with Inland Steel Company in East Chicago, Indiana, and was a lifelong member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 1010. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 42 in Floyds Knobs, and member of Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Angela M. Combs Misecko; children, Gloria Richwalski of Merrillville, Joyce Zakula and her husband, Fred, of Hobart, Phillip J. Misecko and his wife, Linda, of Portage, Beverly Wright and her husband, John, of Floyds Knobs, Phil Chirch and his wife, Fran, of Port Jefferson, N.Y., and Jerry Chirch and his wife, Sherry, of Hobart; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Mitrowka of Springhill, Fla., and Millie Hriecenak of Scherville.He was preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis Misecko; and sisters, Ann Czarnecki and Betty DeLache.Visitation will be at the church from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday.Kraft Funeral Home, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, is in charge of the arrangements.4
