Obituary | 24 August 2009 | Obituary: The obituary for Robert was recorded on 24 August 2009. [from Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier - (Aug/24/2009)] DYSART - Robert Clarence Knupp, 83, of Dysart, died Saturday, Aug. 22, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, after a short illness. He was born June 6, 1926, in Dysart, son of Vernon and Rose Messer Knupp. On Feb. 12, 1950, he married Doris Matthias at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Denver. He graduated from Dysart High School in 1943 and farmed the family farm east of Dysart until 1985. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Dysart Lions Club. Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Cheryl (Stan) Ames of Beaverton, Ore.; three sons, Kevin (Katy) of Madison, Ala., and Michael (Amy) and Jeffrey (Marcia), both of Dysart; a sister, Irene (David) Wieck of Dysart; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: his parents; his stepfather, Leo Blough; and a sister, Dorothy. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, with burial in Dysart Cemetery.
