Bobbye June Jones

Bobbye June Jones, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday morning, October 10, 2015, at the age of 79. She was at home with her family when she passed into the arms of the Lord. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, at Grace City Church, in Hillsboro, with Pastor Phil Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery, in Hillsboro.

Bobbye June Jones was born in Hillsboro on May 18, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Earl R. Cunningham and Lucy Jordan Cunningham, of Hillsboro. Bobbye was the last of eight children. She attended school in Hillsboro and on June 6, 1954, she married Bobby D. Jones.

Accepting Jesus at age 19, she felt the call to study and teach the Bible to women and young people. She was a talented musician who taught others to play different instruments. She and her husband spent 30 years in Christian counseling until breast cancer reoccurred. She ministered to others from her sick bed until she was unable to carry on.

Bobbye is survived by her husband, Bob; her sons, Bob, Jr. of Mansfield and Steven and wife, Mary, of Arlington; daughters, Suzy Dibbern and husband, Bob, of Allen and Terri Loyd and husband, Larry, of Hillsboro. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren including Stefan Lloyd and wife, Lauren, Jordan Haney and husband, Shane, Cherri Lloyd, Sara Jones, Anna Goetsch and husband, Jonathan, Rachel Jones, Rebecca Jones, Nick Silva, Megan Dibbern, and Jon Dibbern; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Lloyd. She also left three sisters, Mary Dorsey and husband, Elton, of Fort Worth, Katy Wingate of Fort Worth, and Martha Burrow of Premont. She also has several surviving nieces and nephews.
