From The Ocheyedan Press, 08 Dec 2006 Funeral services for Larry Harlan Scheu, 69, of Ocheyedan, were held Wednesday, (today) December 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m., at the Zion Lutheran Church, Horton Township, Ocheyedan, with Rev. Russell Anderson officiating. A private family interment in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, was held prior to the service. Andringa Funeral Home of Ocheyedan was in charge of arrangements. Larry died Sunday, December 3. He was born on November 25, 1937, in Worthington, Minn., to Herman and Charlotte (Greenfield) Scheu. Larry attended Zion Lutheran parochial grade school and graduated from Ocheyedan High School in 1956. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958, where he attained the rank of SPC3. He was married to Joyce Bremer of Ocheyedan, on October 19, 1958, at the Zion Lutheran Church. Larry farmed his entire life on a farm northwest of Ocheyedan. Larry was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he held numerous office positions throughout his life. Survivors are his wife, Joyce Scheu of Ocheyedan; three children and six grandchildren: Desiree Scheu (Kyle) of Milton, Wisc.; Tony Scheu and wife Beth, Andrew, Jordan, and Brandon, Ocheyedan; Denise Gonnerman and husband Dave, Stuart, Daniel and Ashley, of Spirit Lake; one sister: Leila and husband George Gilbert Nasers of Worthington, Minn.; brothers-in-law: Norbert and Gary Bremer of Ocheyedan; sisters-in-law: Joanne Patrick of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Linda Hromatko and Mary Boswell of Cody, Wyo. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother-in-law: David Gilbert; two nephews: Michael Boswell and Larry Hromatko. O⁸
