Robert Allen Wilcox, 25, of Portland, OR, driver of the car, was killed and Roy Powers, a passenger, is in the hospital with a crushed chest and deep cuts on his face and limbs. The body of Wilcox is at the Anker Mortuary. The accident happened 3 1/2 miles north of Laytonville on the Redwood highway which is within the Eureka headquarters of the CHP whose patrolman covered the accident. Particulars of the accident are meager. The coroner's office has been advised that the car driven by Wilcox hit a shoulder of the road then left the highway and collided with a tree. A post mortem was made Thursday night. Powers is about 40 years of age, the son of William J powers of Redwood Valley and a ranch worker. ⁷

She and her husband, Virgil, operated the Baldwin Venetian Blind Company for 25 years on the north side of Springfield. She was a wonderful prayer warrior for the Assemblies of God Church and the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. Daisy will be remembered by her family as the greatest prayer partner and friend. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Virgil W. Baldwin of 65 years; her son, Preston Baldwin of Springfield; and her daughters, Dawn Whittington of Springfield, Francine Kuzniewski of Little Rock, Ark., Joy Kiley of Springfield, and Judy Hybertson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2002 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2002 in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield. Viewing will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2002 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. (Note: July Hybertson is a daughter of Virgil Baldwin before he married Daisy, per Dawn). O¹³
