| Obituary | Abt 16 Aug 2024 | Obituary: The obituary for Marjorie was recorded at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City, Pennington, South Dakota, United States on Abt 16 Aug 2024. Marjorie's Obituary Marjorie Ruth Range, 95, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, in Rapid City, SD. Marjorie Ruth Range, daughter of Arthur and Mildred (Norris) Bremer, was born on March 19, 1929, on a farm near Ocheyedan, Iowa. She attended grade school in Medford, Oregon and at Zion Lutheran School in Ocheyedan, Iowa. She went to Phoenix Union High School in Arizona for her Freshman year and graduated from Ocheyedan High School in 1947. After attending college in Estherville, Iowa, she was a teacher in a rural Iowa school for two years. She then worked at the Ocheyedan Savings Bank until her marriage to Glen Hattendorf in 1951. They had one son, Joel. After Glen passed away in 1955, Margorie and Joel continued to live in Horton Township in Iowa. She worked in the office at the Ocheyedan Community School for several years. In 1972, she married Ray Dake, and they lived and farmed near Ocheyedan until his death in 1985. She moved to Worthington, Minnesota, where she worked at Lynch Funeral Home as a receptionist. She married Donald Range in 1991; they lived in California and Minnesota until moving to Rapid City, South Dakota in 1994. In 2013, Marjorie and Donald became residents at Westhills Village Retirement Community in Rapid City. Marjorie was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in rural Ocheyedan. She held several offices in the LWML, was in the choir, and taught Sunday School. In Worthington, she was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Upon moving to Rapid City, she became a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Marjorie enjoyed traveling, sewing, square dancing, ballroom dancing, golfing, gardening, hunting, and fishing. She found special joy in being near the mountains.
