Funeral services for Mrs. Fred J. Witte, who passed away at her home in Warsaw township on Friday, September 26, were held Monday, September 29, with services at 1:30 o'clock at the home and 2 p. m. at the Morristown Baptist church. At the home service, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Heinaman and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Turek sang "No Night There." The Rev. Wilfred Bladow, Evansville, Wis., a nephew of Mrs. Witte, officiated. At the services held in the church Mr. and Mrs. Walter Heinaman sang her favorite hymns, "No Disappointment In Heaven" and "Shall We Gather at the River." Six nephews were pallbearers including Otto Rissman and Roy Timmers of Morristown; Donald Witte, St. Paul; Roger and Kenneth Witte of Faribault, and Don Maass of Watertown. BORN IN WHEELING TOWNSHIP Mrs. Selma Piepho Witte was born June 6, 1898, in Wheeling township. On June 15, 1919 she was united in marriage to Fred J. Witte. They made their home on a farm in Warsaw township where she resided until her death. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Ralph Witte, 19, and Harold Witte, 12; her mother, Mrs. Christine Piepho, Faribault; and three sisters, Mrs. Herman Lippert (Lulu); Mrs. Newell Chester (Evelyn), Warsaw, and Mrs. Lee Fullerton (Esther) of California; and one brother, August Piepho, Meridan. Her father, August Piepho, Sr., passed away in 1931. Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. August Piepho, Meridan; Mrs. Lee Fullerton, Turlock, Calif.; Mrs. Ruth Piepho, Alice, Ernest and Emil Piepho, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Heim, Herbert Heim, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Heim, Mrs. Oswald Stenbakken, Mrs. Otto Witte, Mrs. Charles Bannister of Minneapolis; Mrs. Emma and Louis Nusbaum, Montgomery; Mr. and Mrs. John Nusbaum, New Prague; Mrs. Louise Kueker of St. Paul. Mr. and Mrs. August Maass, Rev. and Mrs. Bladow of Evansville, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. William Maass, Miss Anna Maass, Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Heinaman, St. Bonifacius; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Turek, Mrs. Gustave Turek of Excelsior; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mil--------------.2

FARIBAULT ? ?Evelyn E. (Mrs. Ralph) Witte, age 80 of Faribault, died on Friday, September 5, 2008 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Faribault.

Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Faribault on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Daniel D. Mead officiating.?Interment will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home in Faribault on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Evelyn Elaine, the daughter of Frank and Carrie (Gustafson) Grimm was born October 31, 1927 in Faribault. She attended country school in Rice County District 30.?On November 28, 1951, she married Ralph F. Witte at First Baptist Church, Morristown and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2004. Together they farmed for 20 years in Warsaw Township.?Evelyn was active with the Rice County Extension group.

She is survived by two children, Dale (Sandra) Witte of Coon Rapids and Pamela (David) Beener of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren, Curtis Witte of Tulare, Calif., Scott (Stephanie Haughton) Witte of Visalia, Calif., Jaclyn Beener of Phoenix and Sarah Beener of Des Moines, Iowa; step-grandchildren, Lisa Brand and Scott Beener of Des Moines, Iowa; two great grandchildren, Brooke and Mason Witte of Tulare, Calif.; three sisters, Erna (Mike) Quam of Kenyon, Edna (Alfred) Quam of Kenyon and Dorothy Musegades of Faribault; three brothers, Everett (Mary) Grimm of Faribault, Burton (Ludie) Grimm of Montgomery and Frank (Darlene) Grimm of Tucson, Ariz.; and a brother in law, Harold (Kay) Witte of Faribault.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ralph.3
