CANFIELD - There will be a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Christine Catholic Church for Mary Kay Cornelius, 74, formerly of DeCamp Road in Youngstown, who passed away Thursday afternoon.
Mary Kay was born Aug. 9, 1931 in Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Ellen (Murphy) Saunders.
A 1948 graduate of Ursuline High School, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Christine's Church, where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society, Infant of Prague Guild, and the prayer chain. She was also a member of the Mahoning County Council for Retarded Citizens.
Her husband, Charles L Cornelius, whom she married Oct. 18, 1952, passed away Dec 5, 2002.
Mrs. Cornelius leaves five children, Patricia (Lou) Geroni of Hamilton, Mary Jo (BJ) Artrup of Columbus, Brian (Laraine) Cornelius, with who she made her home in Canfield, James Cornelius of Mineral Ridge, and Daniel (Donna) Cornelius of North Canton; seven grandchildren, Daniel and Mimi Geroni, Erik and Claire Artrup, and Paul, Elise, and Elena Cornelius; two sisters, Florence (Steve) Gerak and Carol Jean (Don) Potts; and a brother, Jack (Barb) Saunders of Minnesota.
Besides her husband, Mary Kay was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Harris; a brother, Joseph Saunders; and her parents.
Friends and family may offer condolences at 9:30 a.m. Monday before the services at the church.
