Survived by brother, Thomas, son, Kristopher (Jamie), grandchildren, Christopher and Abigail, nieces, Pamela, Colleen, Melissa, Allison, nephews, Robert, Michael and Ronald. Loving Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend. Peggy was a source of strength and wisdom for everyone that knew her. A fighter and survivor, her strong faith fueled her resiliency and perseverance. She always kept a positive attitude despite any adversity she faced. Her legacy lives on in the many people she helped to get and stay sober during her own 36 years of sobriety. She will be missed and hold a place in our hearts forever. Witte, who passed away at her home in Warsaw township on Friday, September 26, were held Monday, September 29, with services at 1:30 o'clock at the home and 2 p. m. at the Morristown Baptist church. At the home service, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Heinaman and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Turek sang "No Night There." The Rev. Wilfred Bladow, Evansville, Wis., a nephew of Mrs. Witte, officiated. At the services held in the church Mr. and Mrs. Walter Heinaman sang her favorite hymns, "No Disappointment In Heaven" and "Shall We Gather at the River." Six nephews were pallbearers including Otto Rissman and Roy Timmers of Morristown; Donald Witte, St. Paul; Roger and Kenneth Witte of Faribault, and Don Maass of Watertown. BORN IN WHEELING TOWNSHIP Mrs. Selma Piepho Witte was born June 6, 1898, in Wheeling township. On June 15, 1919 she was united in marriage to Fred J. Witte. They made their home on a farm in Warsaw township where she resided until her death. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Ralph Witte, 19, and Harold Witte, 12; her mother, Mrs. Christine Piepho, Faribault; and three sisters, Mrs. Herman Lippert (Lulu); Mrs. Newell Chester (Evelyn), Warsaw, and Mrs. Lee Fullerton (Esther) of California; and one brother, August Piepho, Meridan. Her father, August Piepho, Sr., passed away in 1931. Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. August Piepho, Meridan; Mrs. Lee Fullerton, Turlock, Calif.; Mrs. Ruth Piepho, Alice, Ernest and Emil Piepho, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Heim, Herbert Heim, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Heim, Mrs. Oswald Stenbakken, Mrs. Otto Witte, Mrs. Charles Bannister of Minneapolis; Mrs. Emma and Louis Nusbaum, Montgomery; Mr. and Mrs. John Nusbaum, New Prague; Mrs. Louise Kueker of St. Paul. Bauer, age 47, passed away this morning at the Rice County District One Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the St. Luke's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Kenneth Worthman officiating. Interment will be in the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park of Faribault. Friends may call at the Boldt Funeral Home from Wednesday afternoon and evening until noon on Thursday and at the church from 1 p.m. until the hour of services. Mrs. Bauer is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Wilfred Chavie (Elaine), five sons, Roger, Richard, Orville, Jerome and Glenn and 11 grandchildren. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Piepho of Faribault; five sisters Mrs. Carl Schuette (Ethel) of Faribault, Mrs. Erven Mensing (Evelyn) of West Concord, Mrs. Bert Berke (Helen) of Minneapolis, Mrs. Charles Duchene (Mildred) of Minneapolis and Mrs. Clarence Gerold (Darlene) of Long Beach, Calif. and two brothers, Donald Piepho of Faribault and Ralph Piepho of Faribault.4 |

[from the Des Moinies Sunday Register, 25 Sep 1927] W H Pippho, 87 dies following short illness William Henry Piepho, 87 years old resident of Des Moines for the last fifty-eight years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs D W Miller, 1646 Maple Street, yesterday after a short illness. He was born in Germany in 1840 and came to this country when he was 5 years old. He moved to Des Moines in 1869, after living for a time in New York and Illinois. He had made his home here with his daughter for the last ten years. The survivors are six daughters, Mrs. Miller and Pearl Piepho of Des Moines, Mrs. Thomas Miller of Ft. madison, Mrs. Emma Young of Culver City, CA, Mrs. Flora Payne of Long Beach, CA, and Mrs. Ella Blackburn of Raton, NM and one son, Frank, of Des Moines. His wife and two children preceded him in death. Mr. Piepho was a carpenter and was active in the Masonic Lodge and the Lutheran Chruch. Funeral Services will be held at Schoen and Sleninger funeral establishment at 2:00pm tomorrow. Interment will be made at Woodland Cemetery.3 |

Obituary of Mrs. Consoer Mrs. Wilhelmine Consor, the daughter of Chris Piepho and his wife, Katherine nee Seegers, was born March 26, 1869 at Hanover, Lake county, Indiana. On April 25, 1869, she was baptized in the name of the Triune God and she publicly confirmed her baptismal vow in the Evangelical Zion church at Hanover, March 18, 1883. March 3, 1889, she was united in holy wedlock with August Consoer and the young couple made their home in Blue Island, Ill, where three children, Henry, Laura and Lily, were born. In the winter of 1902 she moved with her family to Iowa and they lived for six years on the August Bremer farm in Horton township. In 1908, Mr. and Mrs. Consoer bought a farm of their own, where Henry Consoer resides, and they lived there until Mr. Consoer passed away August 6, 1935. After the death of her husband Mrs. Consoer made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Alfred Hattendorf, until her death. Sunday, November 23, she requested her pastor to give her Holy Communion for the forgiveness of sins, salvation and life eternal. November 25, she entered the hospital at Worthington, where she passed away at 12:30pm, November 28, at the age of 89 years, eight months, and two days. She leaves to mourn her departure her two children, Henry and Laura (Mrs. Alfred Hattendorf), six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Her husband, one daughter, three brothers, five sisters, and seven grandchildren preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hattendorf and at Zion Lutheran church, Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Alfred R. Allmann, officiating. Committal services were held at Zion Lutheran cemetery with the Walton Funeral service in charge of the arrangements, and Henry Claus, Walter Rueter, Henry Rueter, Albert Bremer, Harry Bremer, and George Sixta serving as pallbears.16 |

William H Piepho - Funeral sevices for William H Piepho, 81, were held Saturday, June 28, at 2 pm at St. Luke's Evangelical and Reformed Church, with the Rev. C. P. Schrupp officiating. Mr. Piepho died Wednesday, June 25, at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kulman. Armin Bosshart sang "Where He Leads Mme I Will Follow" and "What A Friend I Have In Jesus." Interment was made in Maple Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edmund Ihlow, William Ihlow, Norman Luebke, Linford Meese, Curtis Meese, and Erich Gerzevske. Mr. Piepho was born in Wheeling township August 31, 1870, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Piepho. He grew up in Wheeling, being baptized at St. John's Church by Rev. S. Lang nd confirmed by the Rev. H. Rahmeier. His marriage to Maria Helberg took place at St. John's Church on April 24, 1892. They lived in Wheeling until 1935, when he retired and they moved to Faribault. For the last 14 to 15 months he lived at the Kuhlman home in Kenyon. The deceased seved as a trustee of St. John's Church for many years. Survivors include his wife; four daughters; Mrs. Carl Ihlow (Lena), Mrs. Alton Meese (Alfrieda), Mrs. Richard Kuhlman (Verna), and Mrs Adolph Luebke (Sara); one son, Arthur Piepho of St. Paul; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grand children; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Rehman and Mrs. Max Wutschke; and two brothers, John of Fergus Falls and Clarence of Faribault. Four daughters preceded him in death.2 |
