Seybert, 88, passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2010. He graduated from Goshen High School and Purdue University with a degree in electrical engineering. He furthered his education studying at Columbia University and M.I.T. He taught engineering at the Purdue Campus in Michigan City, Indiana. He was married on June 7, 1947, to Hilda Dippon Seybert from Milford, Indiana. He served in the Navy as a Radar Officer for four years during WWII earning the rank of Lieutenant, JG. His ship, a destroyer, was adjacent to the USS Missouri when the Japanese surrender was signed at the end of the war. He spent his entire career with NIPSCO, living across northern Indiana where he was very active in civic affairs. He served as president of two Chambers of Commerce, the YMCA, Kiwanis, Rotary, school board, Pottawattomie Country Club, Boy Scouts of America, One Hundred Percent Club, the Summit Club, and was active in Junior Achievement, Scottish Rite and Shrine. While living in Michigan City, the town set aside a day and proclaimed it "Paul Seybert Day" where they celebrated his many accomplishments. In his retirement, he served as vice-president and treasurer of Wayne Steel Supply. In addition to his civic service, Paul loved spending time with his family boating on the Great Lakes or at their winter home in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Paul was a 33rd degree mason, past Thrice Potent master of Scottish Rite and past Potentate of Orak Temple. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and has served as an Elder. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Paul is survived by his wife, Hilda, his daughter, Paula Rae Reckley (Stephen) of Elmhurst, Illinois, his son, David (Patty) Seybert of Fort Wayne, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and a sister, Stephanie Heyde, of Granger, Indiana. The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Calling is one hour before and light refreshments will be served afterward. Memorials to Shriners Hospitals, Junior Achievement or First Presbyterian Church. www.klaehnfahlmeltonfunerals.com²

THIRD: All of the rest, residue and remainder of my property, be it real property, personal property, or property of a mixed character, and wheresoever it may be situated, of which I may die seized and possessed, I give, devise, and bequeath unto my wife, Nola Macie Shafer, absolutely, to have and to hold in fee simple forever. FOURTH: I hereby nominate, constitute, and appoint my said wife, Nola Macie Shafer, to be Executrix of this, my Last Will and Testament, and direct that no security on the Executor's bond be required of my said wife. I give to my Executrix the following powers and discretions, in each case to be exercisable without court order: A.To sell at public or private sale, to retain, to lease, to borrow money and for that purpose to mortgage or to pledge, all or part of the real or personal property of my estate; B.To settle claims in favor of or against my estate; C.To exercise or not to exercise any election or option granted to Executors by the Internal Revenue Code in force at my death, even though such exercise or non-exercise increases or decreases estate principal or income, without adjustment to principal or income; D.To distribute the residue of my estate in case or in kind or partly in each, and for this purpose the determination of the Executrix as to the value of any property distributed in kind shall be conclusive; and E.To execute and deliver any deeds, contracts, mortgages, bills of sale or other instruments necessary or desirable for the exercise of her powers and discretions as Executrix.
