A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009, at Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton with burial following in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2009, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland and 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. Mrs. Yow was born on September, 13, 1921 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late John Albert Winge and Florence Jennings Winge. Reared in Jackson, she graduated from Central High School and continued her education studying business at Hinds Community College. Mrs. Yow married Esten Eli Yow on July 18, 1942 and was married 59 ½ years before his death in 2001. She joined Parkway Baptist Church in 1955 where she was a faithful member. Mrs. Yow retired from Inglewood Nursing Home where she served as bookkeeper for many years. After retirement, she worked at the Lakeland Surgical Clinic in Jackson as bookkeeper. Mrs. Yow was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Yow enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She will be remembered most as a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her husband, Esten Eli Yow; sisters, Irma W. Henderson and Shirley W. Morgan; and grandson, Matthew Ryan Yow of Lorena, TX. Survivors include: daughter, Ella Keen of Brandon; daughter, Cathy Lofton and her husband, Tommy of Raymond; son, Bert Yow and his wife, Susan of Lorena, TX; son, John Yow and his wife, Donna of Brandon; daughter, Christina Parker of Brandon; grandchildren, David Lofton and his wife, Jennifer of Cibolo, TX; Eric and Lauren Yow of Lorena, TX; Jordan, Kaitlyn and Nathan Yow of Brandon; Gabriel Parker of Brandon; great grandchildren, Taylor, Allison, J.T. and Eli Lofton of Cibolo, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
