David Davenport "Amos" South Holland, IL David "Amos" Davenport, age 76, of South Holland, passed away April 6, 2004 at St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights. Beloved husband of Norma nee Piepho of 50 years. Loving father of Arliss (Bob) Lennon and Marsha (Ron) Brown. Proud grandfather of Shane and Chelsea Lennon and Timothy and Andrew Brown. Dear brother of Elsie Minas, Edward and the late Edmond Davenport and Etta Gray. Fond brother-in-law of Norbert (Nancy), Melvin (Janet) Piepho, Nelda (Paul) Manter and Neva Piepho. Mr. Davenport was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees WWII in the Pacific Theatre. David enjoyed his life since retiring from LTV Steel in January 1986. He and Norma took many trips and vacations throughout the beautiful continental U.S., Canada, Mexico and Hawaii. Visitation Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. George W. Knapp officiating at Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 15801 S. Cottage Grove Ave., (four blocks North of 162nd St. (Rte. 6), Dolton/South Holland. Interment, private. Please omit flowers. 708-841-2300 or 708-460-2300.2
