She is also preceded in death by her husband, John Misecko, Jr. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their support and care. Survivors include: 6 Children, 19 Grandchildren, 42 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren, 1 Sister, and 1 Brother. Comstock Jr. George W. Comstock Jr., 83, formerly of Sioux City died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, following a lengthy illness. The body has been cremated. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, with the Rev. Janice Bennett of Riverside United Methodist Church officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Naval Reserves. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. George was born Sept. 13, 1921, the son of George William and Alma (Mortenson) Comstock, in Sioux City. He married BettyJean E. Pierce on New Year's Day 1943. The couple lived in Sioux City until July 20, 2004, when they moved to Denison. BettyJean died Feb. 17, 2005, in Denison. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ranger during World War II. He attended Riverside United Methodist Church. He was raised in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools. He was on the Sioux City Board of Education for more than 40 years. He took great pride and care of Roberts Stadium and caring for the schools until he retired. Most folks knew him as a joker. He loved gardening, camping, woodworking and he also enjoyed all children, lots of them. He was a very talented person, who could invent and fix about anything he tries, just ask George, he would know how. Survivors include a son, George (Joy) of Custer, S.D.; a daughter, Carole (Gene) Christiansen of Arion, Iowa; three sisters, Lula Lee, Lillian Brinkerhoff and Ramona Jessip, all of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Joyce Comstock of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Melonie (Matt) Jentges of Otsego, Minn., Christine (Larry) Stout of Fort Hood, Texas, Theresa (Todd) Pekelder of Watertown, S.D., Tanya (Gary) Sattler of Wallace, S.D., and Shawn and Sheila Comstock, both of Rapid City, S.D.; 11 great-grandchildren, Jessica J., Andy, Bucky, Ryan, Danielle, Jessica P., Sarah, Emily, Jordan, Joshua and Tashawna; six step-grandchildren, Randy (Julie) Christiansen of Helena, Mont., Vicky (Kenny) Abel of Clancey, Mont., Tammy (special friend, Doug) Christiansen of Helena, Mont., and Ashley, Lacey and Rachel Cheeseman of Custer, S.D.; six great-step-grandchildren, Amy (Oscar) Garcia of Austin, Texas, Becky Christiansen of Helena, Mont., Amanda (special friend, Tommy) Miller of Helena, Mont., Aleah Miller of McCook Lake, S.D., Alisha (Allen) Hall of Patterson, Calif., and Casey Abel of Clancey, Mont.; three great-great-step-grandchildren, Izziah, Aasin and Theron; and many nieces and nephews. Lillian was born June 10, 1920, in Sioux City, to George and Alma (Martinson) Comstock. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City, and married John Brinkerhoff on Feb. 4, 1939, in Le Mars, Iowa. She took great pride in being a homemaker, raising her children, sharing her creativity in the various crafts she mastered, especially being a seamstress, and making most of her children's clothing. She taught crafts for 10 years at the YWCA in Sioux City. Lillian enjoyed music, singing and taught her children how to dance by having them stand on her feet. She was a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church. Lillian is survived by her sons, Frank (Linda) Brinkerhoff and John Brinkerhoff Jr. of Sioux City; daughter, Peggy Stotz of Wickenburg, Ariz.; sister, Ramona Jessip of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John in 1982; two brothers; and three sisters.⁶

Lee-Neville, 88, of Sioux City died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at her home. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Christy-Smith Larkin Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation will resume 11 a.m. Tuesday, prior to services, at the funeral home. Lula was born on May 22, 1919, in Sioux City, the daughter of George and Alma (Mortensen) Comstock. She was raised in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools. She married Robert L. Lee in 1936 at Sioux City. He died in 1987. She then married William Harvey Neville on April 19, 2005, in Sioux City. Lula was an electronic technician for Tim Coil and Loop Company in South Sioux City for many years. She also worked at Wincharger in Sioux City. She was baptized in 1955 in the Baptist church. Lula was very active in the Siouxland Senior Center and will leave behind many friends there who enriched her life. Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert A. Lee of Laughlin, Nev.; and two sisters, Lillian Brinkerhoff and Ramona Jessip, both of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; two brothers, Jared and George Comstock; and a sister, Mary Stout. ⁷

Note	3 Jan 1997	Note: 3 Jan 1997. A note from Ramona, dated 3 Jan 1997: I was one year old when Grandma Mortensen died, and knew very little about her. My mother, Alma M. told me that her mother was sometimes very "vocal" and angry while raising such a large family in hard times. Mother talked about those times when her Mother was upset, and her Dad, Rasmus would bring Alma to his basement woodworking shop, sit her up on the workbench, and place wood shavings in her hair, for curls. Grandfather Rasmus M. was a fine woodworking craftsman, and is said to have contributed to some wood carvings in and around Sioux City during his lifetime. One of these artworks is located at the St. Boniface Catholic church in Sioux City, as told to me by Mother, Alma. I visited Grandfather's home in Stevens So. Dak. (now No. Sioux City) with Mother when I was twelve and thirteen years old. He lived all alone in what seemed to me a lovely old home with beautiful woodwork, and floors. The yard was unkempt, in those years, but large patches of Hollyhocks, a tall colorful flower grew beside the garage and house. Grandfather liked me, and always smiled, and gave me a few pennies, or maybe a nickel each time we visited. Mother and I would ride the street car that ran on steel rails and was powered by an overhead "trolley" to Stevens, and then we would walk six blocks to his home on the edge of town. Mother would scour the pantry and cupboards for a few wrinkled potatoes, an onion, and maybe a jar of canned meat to prepare a meal for Grandpa and Mother and me. I remember Grandpa smoking a big curved pipe, and how it rested in-between a graying fluffy handle-bar moustache. His home had big heavy wooden armed chairs and settee, with leather seats. Inside the glass door kitchen cabinets, I could see beautiful colored glass dishes, with fluted edges, and long stemmed bases. I'm sure these were some of the possessions that traveled to the US from Denmark and Norway. Maybe this accounts for my love of beautiful pieces of glassware today. I am fortunate to have two pieces of the glassware, given to me by my mother just before she died in 1955.⁴

She was born Oct. 14, 1904, in Somerset county, a daughter of the late William and Anna Mary Cornelius Connor. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Youngwood, Eastern Star of Greensburg, former member of the Youngwood Women's Club, and a former member and past president of the Youngwood PTA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester E. Momeyer; the following brothers: Walter, Edward, Lloyd and James Connor; and a sister, Leona Connor. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Downs of Monroeville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Euphemia Connor of Latrobe. Friends will be received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James L. Tubbs officiating. Interment to follow in St. Clair Cemetery.¹

Funeral Services will be Monday, January 13, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church, Horton Township, Ocheyedan, Iowa. Rev. Neil Wehmas officiating. Burial in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Horton Township, Ocheyedan, Iowa. Visitation will be Sunday, January 12, from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. with the family present from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Chapel in Ocheyedan. Warren Otto Consoer was born on June 30, 1921 in Ocheyedan, Iowa. He was the son of Henry and Martha (Leckband) Consoer. He lived his youth on a farm north of Ocheyedan in Horton Township. He attended school at Lone Star Country School, Zion Lutheran Parochial School and Ocheyedan Community High School, graduating in 1940. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Dorr of Marcus, Iowa on May 1, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marcus. They lived on their farm north of Ocheyedan, where everyone knew it as "the place with the house on one side and the barn on the other side of the road". Warren enjoyed farming, visiting, tossing horseshoes and playing cards. When he was younger he enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting trap and skeet. Warren was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Horton Township. As a youth he was involved in Zion's Walther League. In later years, Warren served as an elder and offering collector, was an active voting member, and on the cemetery committee. God gifted Warren with a wonderful singing voice. Being in the church choir brought him great joy and he loved singing praises to his Savior. His talents included playing piano, guitar, and baritone horn. He was on the Board of Directors at the Round Lake Cooperative Elevator. Warren passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Lake Park Care Center in Lake Park, Iowa. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 68 years, Phyllis Consoer of Ocheyedan, IA; his children: Roger Consoer of St. Charles, IA, Catherine (Bill) Kaufmann of Burlington, WI, Milton (Sandy) Consoer of Ocheyedan, IA, James (Glenda) Consoer of Sioux Falls, SD, Constance (Robert) Brons of Lake Park, IA, Brenda (Eugene "Dinger") Wunderlich of Harvard, IL; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Leslie (Marilyn) Consoer of Ocheyedan, IA, Paul (Lorraine) Consoer of Payson, AZ.
