In 1930 he was made Superintendent of Western Asphalt Paving. In 1937 the company, now Western Contracting Company, opened an office in Sioux Falls, SD and Perry was picked to head up that office.4,3

Plan Rites for pederson, 54
Clear Lake - Funeral services for Contrad M. Pederson, 54, 312 Clara street, whose body was found hanging in the garage at his home Sunday morning, will be held at Ward's funeral home Tuesday at 2 o'clock. Christian Science and Masonic rites will be conducted at the funeral home and the American legion will be in charge at the graveside in Clear Lake cemetery.
Mr. Pederson had said that he was going to wash the car and when he failed to come in for breakfast Mrs. Pederson investigated and found the body. Dr. R. E. Smiley, county coroner, was called and pronounced it a case of suicide. Mr. Pederson had been in poor health for several months and had undergone several operations.
Mr. Pederson was born March 10, 1895, at Sioux City, son of Lars and Christian Pederson. He grew up there and served in the army in World War I. He was married at St. Mark's Episcopal church, Fort Dodge, Feb 14, 1922.
Mr and Mrs Pederson had lived in Clear Lake a number of years. He was employed by the Western Weighing and Inspection Bureau, Mason City. Mr Pederson became a of the Masonic order at Sioux City Oct 7, 1920, transferring to Clear Lake lodge about 5 years ago. At the time of his death he was worshipful master of Verity lodge No. 250, A. F. and A. M., and exalted high priest of Bethel chapter No.l16, Royal Arch Masons, Clear Lake.
Besides his wife, Mr. Pederson is survived by his daughter, Mrs DuWayne Jensen, Clear Lake, his mother, Mrs Christina Pederson and a brother, Perry Pederson, both of Sioux Falls, S. Dak.3

ELDERLY MAN PASSES AWAY
Herman Henry Meyer died at the home of his son, George, where he has made his home for the past five months. During that time his health has been gradually failing and he passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5th at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 25 days.
Herman Meyer was born in Hanover Germany, July 11, 1856. He came to America at the age of 14 years, with his father, settling at Crown Point, Lake county, Indiana. In 1878, he went to Iowa and then came to Nebraska in 1881.
He was married to Emma Rebecca Piepho, October 4, 1888. To this union, nine children were born, four dying in infancy. They spent their entire married life of thirty-seven years near and in Scotia. He was a faithful and loving father and beloved by all his neighbors. His wife preceded him in death, just five months before.
He leaves to mourn his loss four sons and one daughter, Arthur, Elmer and wife, Raymond and wife, George and wife and Elsie [Sautter] and husband. Also four grandchildren and a host of friends.3
