Proof of Parents		Proof of Parents: Benoni Jennings's parents are Israel Jennings (1772-1854) & Mabel Jennings (1777-1862). To date I, and as far as I know, no one else has found documents telling us who Benoni's parents were. We know that he was born in Ohio (probably Brown County) in 1804, or possibly as early as 1800. We know that he was married in Brown County, Ohio in 1826 to Rachel McKinney. From a will of Israel Jennings (b. 1745, married to Charity Freeman) we know that Benoni is not his son. Based on DNA tests that I took in 2016, I know that I have DNA matches to descendants of Israel Jennings (b.1772) and Mabel Jennings (b.1777; daughter of Israel Jennings, b. 1745). I also have matches to descendants of Israel (b.1772)'s parents and many of Mabel Jennings's ancestors. Based on DNA evidence and other information available I have concluded that Benoni's parents are Israel Jennings (b.1772) and Mabel Jennings (b. 1777). Until I find evidence to the contrary I will include them as parents of Benoni. Ted Cash, 11 November 20195
Memo (fam)		Memo: From "Portrait and Biographical Record of Montgomery and Bond Counties, Illinois, Chicago, Chapman Bros., 1892" A biography of Carey W Jennings says of his parents: "The elder Mr. Jennings (Benoni) was of English and Welsh ancestry, but was born in Brown County, Ohio, in the year 1800. His wife (Rachael L McKinney Jennings) was a native of the same locality, and of Irish ancestry. Soon after marriage they moved to Indiana, and in 1841 came to Coles Co, IL, and in 1844 to Bond Co, IL, locating near Greenville, which place continued to be their home for five years. The Jennings family then moved to a place three miles north of Old Ripley. There both parents died in 1854, having fallen victims to the cholera."6
