He was hired to build it and when he delivered the pieces the union insisted that they would install the interior. After a few days he was called back to supervise because no one understood how the pieces fit together. I believe the attached photo was taken after it was recently in 2001.7

Rasmus Mortensen, 82, retired cabinet maker formerly employed at the Curtis Sash & Door company in Sioux City, was found dead Thursday afternoon in his home at Stevens, SD, where he lived alone. When a woman, who was delivering his laundry, received no reply when rapping on his door, she notified neighbors.
Death was attributed to a heart attack by L W Anderson, Union county coroner, who said the man had been dead two or three days.
He was born November 5, 1961 in Denmark
Survivors are four sons, Rudolph, Sioux City; Earl, Anthon; Norman in the army overseas, and Arthur, Vallejo, Cal; six daughters, Mrs Martha Golden, Mrs Alma Comstock, Mrs Esther Sorensen, Mrs Marie Lynott, all of Sioux City; Mrs Rosie Wilcox, Milwakie, Ore; and Mrs Lillie Tash, Los Angeles; two sisters Christine Peterson, Sioux Falls, SD and Sena Olrick, Chicago.
The body was taken to the Andersen funeral home at Elk Point, SD

Burial: Rasmus Mortensen
Burial service for Rasmus Mortensen, 82, who died at his home at Stevens, S.D. will be held in Anderson's Chapel at 2:30pm Tuesday. Rev J W Steel will officiate. Pierce Wall will be soloist. Burial will be in Logan Park cemetery.

A son and a daughter, Arthur Mortensen, Vallejo, CA, and Mrs Lillian Cash, Los Angeles, and a sister, Mrs Christena Petersen, Sioux Falls, will come here for the service.5

Funeral services were held Monday, November 4, at 10:30 am in Zion Lutheran Church for Albert C. Bremer, who died November 1. The Rev. Fredrick Kempfert officiated. Organist was Jill Schmidt. The church choir sang 'Nearer My God to Thee' and 'The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want'. Congregational hymns were 'Abide With Me' and 'Jesus Thy Blood and Righteousnes'. Pallbearers were Howard Radunz, Lyle Phillip, Richard Bremer, Ronald Bremer, Charles Rueter, Loyd Rueter and Dennis Bremer. Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery with Andringa Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Albert Christoph Bremer, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bremer, was born in Horton township October 29, 1897. He was baptized November 21, 1897, in Zion Lutheran Church. On March 19, 1912, he joined the church by the rite of confirmation. He was a lifetime member of Zion and the Ocheyedan community. He was a charter member of Zion's Men's Club. He also was a member of the N.G.O. Club. On December 23, 1938, he was joined in marriage to Margaret Johanna Hartwig.
Albert farmed northeast of Ocheyedan until retirement in 1963, when they moved to Ocheyedan. Margaret passed away in 1970. He is survived by one son, Wayne A. Bremer of Ocheyedan, and one daughter, Mrs. Ted (Verna) Cash of Charlotte, N. Car.; four grandchildren; one brother, Harry of Sibley; and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Miller and Mrs. Ora Rueter of Ocheyedan. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, his parents and one brother.4

Funeral services were held Friday, March 20, at two o'clock at the Zion Lutheran Church, Ocheyedan, with Rev. V. H. Dorn officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Leland Sixta, Fred Stolte, Francis Pickering, John Dirks, Willard Rusche and Armin Miller.
Margaret Johanna Hartwig was born on November 16, 1904, at Danforth, Ill., the daughter of Frederik and Elsie Gronewald Hartwig. As a child she came to the Melvin area, where on March 24, 1918, she was confirmed in the American Lutheran Church of Melvin. She was united in marriage to Albert C. Bremer December 23, 1938, in the American Lutheran Church in Melvin. To this union three children were born. Mrs. Bremer was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one sister, and one brother. She leaves to mourn her husband, one son, Wayne, of Ocheyedan; one daughter, Verna (Mrs. Ted Cash) of Taylors, S. Car.; one grandson, Gregory; three brothers, John of Wood Lake, Minn., Henry of Sioux Falls, S. Dak., Ben of Ocheyedan; and one sister, Anna, (Mrs. John Radunz) of Ocheyedan. Wayne Allen Bremer was born on July 22, 1940 in Worthington, Minnesota. He was the son of Albert and Margaret (Hartwig) Bremer of Ocheyedan, Iowa. Wayne was baptized August 25, 1940 and confirmed April 11, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church, Ocheyedan, Iowa. He was a life member at Zion and active in his church as a Sunday School Teacher, Adult Bible Study Leader, and he held various offices within the congregation. Wayne began his education at Lone Star School, then at Ocheyedan Public and at Zion Lutheran. He graduated from Ocheyedan High School in May of 1958. Wayne attended Agriculture College in Brookings, South Dakota for two years, graduating in 1960. He worked for area farmers before taking over his father’s farm in 1963.
Wayne met Bonitta “Bonnie” Christopherson at Zion Lutheran School when Bonnie taught there. They were united in marriage on June 16, 1963 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Brookings, South Dakota. To this union two children were born, Nathan and Valerie.
In addition to farming, Wayne worked at Sather’s from 1978 to 1982 and at Northern Iowa Die Cast from 1993 to 2005. In 2015, Wayne and Bonnie retired and moved to Sibley, Iowa where Wayne was involved in the Historical Society.
Wayne enjoyed reading, especially local area history involving the church and community. He also collected coins, stamps and toy farm equipment, for 45 years.
He passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Avera McKennan Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Bremer of Sibley, IA; one son, Nathan Bremer of Paullina, IA; one daughter, Valerie Bremer of Grafton, WI; one sister, Verna (Ted) Cash of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law, Betty (Carl) Brooks of Wilhoit, AZ, four nephews and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Belva.8

Daisy Waunita Baldwin passed from this life to the glories of heaven after 85 years on December 6, 2002 in the Maranatha Nursing Home. Daisy was born November 13, 1917 in Sioux City, Iowa. She was a homemaker here in Springfield. She and her husband, Virgil, operated the Baldwin Venetian Blind Company for 25 years on the north side of Springfield. She was a wonderful prayer warrior for the Assemblies of God Church and the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. Daisy will be remembered by her family as the greatest prayer partner and friend. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Virgil W. Baldwin of 65 years; her son, Preston Baldwin of Springfield; and her daughters, Dawn Whittington of Springfield, Francine Kuzniewski of Little Rock, Ark., Joy Kiley of Springfield, and Judy Hybertson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2002 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2002 in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield. Viewing will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2002 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
(Note: July Hybertson is a daughter of Virgil Baldwin before he married Daisy, per Dawn).7

ObituaryObituary: The obituary for Rudolph was recorded. Rudolph 'Pete' Mortensen, 76, 5309 US 75, died Thursday at a Sioux City hospital after being stricken at his residence. Graveside services will be at 11am Monday at Logan Park Cemetery under direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Mr Mortensen was born July 18, 1903, at Sioux City and was a lifelong resident. He married Mabel Visker, June 16, 1945, at South Sioux City. He worked for various plumbing companys for more than 40 years, retiring in 1967. He was a member of the Lutheran faith and the Plumber's Union Local 18. Mr Mortensen served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Robert of Onawa, Iowa and Richard of Everett, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Heath of Whiting, Iowa; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Marilyn Roth of Eugene, Ore., Mrs. Ellen Rozell of Kansas City, Mo. and Mrs Kathy Nilsen of Buena Park, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Lynott of Sioux City and Mrs. Lillian Cash of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 26 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.2

Earl A Mortensen
Earl A Mortensen, 52, died at his farm home three miles east of Anthon Wednesday after suffering a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 11am Friday at the Walter funeral home in Anthon and at 2pm at the Nelson-Berger funeral home in Morningside. Rev. Earl Kurtz of the Methodist church at Danbury will officiate and burial will be in Logan park cemetery, Sioux City. The Walter funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mortensen was born December 17, 1907, in Sioux City. He farmed near Jackson, Neb., before his marriage to Vera Snodgrass March 20, 1943, in Sioux City. After marriage, they moved to the farm near Anthon where Mr. Mortensen had lived ever since. He served in the army from 1927 to 1930.
Survivors include the widow; three sisters, Mrs. Edward Golden, Mrs. James Lynott and Mrs. Howard Cash, all of Sioux City, and two brothers, Norman and Rudolph, both of Sioux City.11

Mr Mortenson was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Local 231 of Electrical Workers. Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Darlene Peterson, Mrs. Dorothy Matney and Mrs. Marilyn De Stigter, all of Sioux City; a brother, Rudolph 'Pete' Mortenson of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Lynott of Sioux City and Mrs. Lillian Cash of Springfield, Mo.; and seven grandchildren. The body was taken to the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home, 711 Myrtle St.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Mortenson died Sunday at a Sioux City hospital. Pallbearers will be Chester Vandener, Albert Douvek, Jim and Paul Lynott, Theodore Peterson and Jack Jessip.1

Mrs. Alma Mortensen Comstock, 56, 2509 George Street, died in a Sioux City hospital Thursday morning.

Mrs Comstock was born in Sioux City December 10, 1898, and had lived here all her life.

Survivors are two sons, George Comstock, Jr., of Sioux City and Jared E. Comstock of Los Angeles; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Stout of Abilene, TX; Mrs Lulu Lee, Mrs Lillian Brinkerhoff and Mrs Mona Jessip, all of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; four brothers, Peter Mortensen and Norman Mortensen, both of Sioux City; Earl Mortensen of Anthon, and Arthur Mortensen of Los Angeles; and four sisters, Mrs. Martha Golden, Mrs Esther Sorenson and Mrs Marie Lynott, all of Sioux City, and Mrs. Lillian Cash of Anthon.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday at the Manning-O'Toole chapel, Rev Franz Oluf-Lund, pastor of Our Saviour Lutheran church will officiate. Burial will be in Logan Park cemetery.17

Mrs Lynott, the former Marie Mortenson, was born Aug 31, 1904 at Sioux City. She married James Peter Lynott, June 3, 1926, in Sioux City. Her husband died May 25, 1962 in Sioux City.

She lived in Sioux City all her life. She was a Lutheran.

Survivors include two sons, James R of Jefferson, SD , and Ronald P of Denver, Colo; two daughters, Mrs Arnold (Kay) Fredrickson of Omaha and Mrs Robert (Ann) Kincaid of North Sioux City, SD; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Ronald “Paul” Lynott Sr., of Waukesha, died Thursday, October 8, 2020 at his home at the age of 79. He was born on June 30, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of James and Marie (nee Mortensen) Lynott. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. On February 14, 1998 he married the former Cheri Weavers in New Berlin. He was a member of the Western Fair Association and owned and operated Gift World Products, Pearl Creation and L’Paige Lipstick and was currently still working. He enjoyed model railroads and playing the piano and accordion. He loved his family dearly, especially attending his grandchildren’s events.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Cheri of Waukesha, along with his children Tina Marie Lynott of Waterloo, IA, Raun Paul Lynott Jr. of Waterloo, IA, James Richard Lynott of MO, Leslie L. (Mary) Lynott of Streamwood, IL, Lechelle L. Schilz of Denver, CO, Toni Marie (Steve) Kraft of Pewaukee and Brian Robert (Amanda) Weick of Pewaukee; 18 grandchildren along with great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by his father and mother in law Robert K. (Genevieve) Weavers, sisters and brothers in law Bev Lynott, Wendy K. (Dennis) Sobczak, Gail L. (Wade) Balson and Pam A. (Robert) Frontzak, lifelong friend Irv Givot , nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother James Richard Lynott and sisters Katherine Maxwell and Ann Marie Kincaid.

Visitation will be at Weatherstone Church, 1500 S. West Lane, New Berlin, WI 53146 Thursday October 15, 2020 from 11:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 1:00 PM. Military Honors will follow the church service. Placement in the columbarium will take place Wednesday October 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Southern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. Memorials in his name are appreciated to Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, 5000 W. National Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53295.

Ann Marie Kincaid, age 63, a resident of Lowell, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Ann was born in Sioux City, Iowa on December 5, 1946 to James Peter and Marie Katherine (Mortenson) Lynott. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wesley Kincaid and her parents; Ann is survived by one son, Wesley Eugene Kincaid and wife Jessica of Lowell, Arkansas; two brothers; one sister; two grandchildren, Brandon and Elysia Kincaid of Lowell, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services will be on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 10:00 am at Lakeview Baptist Church in Cave Springs, Arkansas with Pastor Johnny Harp officiating. Inurnment services will be held at a later date in Sioux City, Iowa.
