Obituary21 February 1935Obituary: The obituary for Anna was recorded on 21 February 1935. From the Lake County Star, Crown Point, IN - Thursday February 21, 1935
Mrs. Anna Marie Collins
The death of Mrs. Anna Marie Collins, nee Drangmeister, a resident of North Court street in this city for the past 42 years, was announced last Thursday evening at 6 o'clock, her passing having occurred in the Methodist hospital in Gary, where she was taken four days previous for medical treatment and special care for an ailment of several years duration.
The deceased, the widow of Richard Collins since 1910, was 76 years old. She was a native of Pittsburg, PA, having been born in that city March 21, 1858. She was baptized, confirmed February 11, 1869 and received a Christian education in the Lutheran church prior to her marriage to Mr. Collins which took place in Tolleston, February 8, 1882. After a short residence in Hartsdale, the deceased, her husband and family moved to Crown Point where remaining ones have resided ever since.
Widowed for the past 25 years, the responsibility of rearing her family of three sons and four daughters was of great moment, and that she accomplished her purpose is attested by the splendid progeny left to perpetuate her name and the heritage of her admirable characteristics. A fourth son, Richard, died in 1905.
Surviving sons are Charles, Harry and John all of this city. The daughters are Mrs. Arthur Reiser of LaPorte and Mrs William Zurbriggen, Mrs. Charles Westphal and Mrs. Joseph Lauerman also of this city. Three sisters also survive, Mrs. Louise Lang of Hammond; Mrs. Dora Bremer of Iowa and Mrs. Minnie Shell of Wisconsin.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Trinity Lutheran church, Rev. August Biester officiating. Burial was in Maplewood cemetery.

From the Crown Point Register, Crown Point, IN - Thursday February 21, 1935
