Nearing the end - Thursday, October 15, 2015

Today, October 15, 2015, I started round 5 of 6 treatments. Arrived at 8:30am and left at 4:00pm; met with Dr L and had chemo.

This treatment was 7 weeks from the last one instead of 4 weeks because we wanted to take a cruise Quebec City, Quebec to Bayonne, NJ; Asked Dr L in July and he saw no problems and agreed to the delay. Cruise was good, and it was good to get out.

Nothing unusual happened during the treatment, or since the last treatment, except as noted. It’s now about 9pm and I feel a little queezy to my stomach, but nothing serious. Told Dr L this morning that this whole series of treatments have been much easier for my body than the ones in 2006 and 2007. Thank you Lord for that.

Tomorrow I go back in the afternoon for about 3 hours to finish the chemo for this round. Blood work is scheduled for two weeks from today (10/29) and my next chemo is scheduled for November 12 and 13.

Round 5 Chemo Complete - Friday, October 16, 2015

Well, round 5 of 6 is complete – at least as far a chemo goes. I feel a little tired and a little queezy and a little cool – about normal for this time. By Monday (hopefully Sunday) I’ll be doing much better.

Four weeks from now I can say that all chemo is complete – thank you Lord.

Round 5 is putting up a fight - Tuesday, October 20, 2015

Well, this round is not going quite as scheduled. Last Thursday and Friday was the chemo, and Friday and Saturday I felt queasy and had the chills – what I’ve come to expect as ‘normal’ for those days. Sunday I was able to attend church services, a plus.

Monday, yesterday, I had an appointment with Dr G (ENT doctor) for a routine 2 month check-up on my nasal surgery. He found some infection and prescribed some antibiotics. On previous rounds, by Tuesday I was feeling pretty much normal, but I feel sluggish – probably a result of the sinus infection and treatment.

Blood work okay for round 5 - Thursday, October 29, 2015

Started feeling ‘normal’ about last Thursday and have not had any problem since then. Blood test today show no abnormalities, so I’m good for the next two weeks – until the final round starting Nov 12th. The Lord has been good to me.
