The results came in - Sunday, June 30, 2019
The results came in on May 23rd and were what I was afraid it was, but I didn’t want to hear it. My cancer (Mantle Cell Lymphoma) was back!
I scheduled a visit with my oncologist, Dr L, on May 31st. He ordered a PET scan to determine the extent of the cancer and told me of some changes that were happening at the hospital system he was working at (Carolina Medical, now Atrium Health). Dr L was now specializing in blood cancers and another doctor, Dr Ghosh, was specializing only in lymphoma’s. He also indicated that Dr Ghosh had some clinical trials going on that I might qualify for. I met with Dr Ghosh on June 12th and we discussed my options. I decided to go with a clinical trial; it seemed only fair because I had benefited from clinical trials previously, so this time I could maybe help someone else. I first had to complete some additional testing, and that went without problems.
